Trying out a new salon can always be very nerve wrecking. You’re afraid of what if your hair comes out wrong, you don’t like it, it’s not what you expected, or what if your hair turns orange. Emotionally it’s very hard to accept going to a new salon. I always say the best are the ones you’re family and friends go to and have seen great results. I believe in recommendations. What you want for yourself, you would want your family and friends to go to. I’ve been searching for years to find a a great stylist in Queens, NY that I could confidently recommend to others and also call “my person”. I have done my hair at Arrojo Studio and salons in Queens. Nothing quite matches the expertise of Arrojo Studio in SoHo. However the prices would alway be higher in the city and the commute to being there for an entire day was also dragging. A family friend recommended this place. I was in the need of a new hair look. My hair color was so washed out it even looked orange.
My natural hair color is dark brown. I also wanted to try a balayage look. Jesse made it clear what I could expect from my hair, and what she did looked even better than the pictures I showed her! At first, I thought it looked gray and she said no it’s blonde. I even FaceTime my cousin who was on her way to meet me to ask what color was my hair 🙂
My results were amazing! In addition to the excellent service Julie and Jesse provided, the salon was impeccably clean, the ambiance, music, they gave you coffee, water, so many snacks they had giving to all of us clients. From the text reminders for appointments, to great customer service, and free oil treatment added to the overall pampering experience.
The only downfall is if you want beautiful hair, be prepared for being there for at least 6-7 hours. It’s a process. But it’s so true. As my cousin says: “Your hair is an investment.”
